Stayed here recently for 4 nights and totally loved this hotel. Beautiful, historic property with well appointed rooms, AC and a nice restaurant onsite. Staff were very friendly, answering every question, giving advice and trying their best to make your stay an enjoyable one. Housekeeping was consistently good and wifi was reliable, your phone picks up signal as you approach the hotel entrance.
The location can't be beat, on the nicest street in the historic center. You could sit outside and watch the world go by. There are many good restaurants and cafes that are very close to the hotel, including the amazing Thai Li for superb Thai food.
Keep in mind that this hotel (and the historic center) is a bit far from the train station, which means you have to to make the 20 min trek or take a taxi to get to the station.
The included breakfast was just okay, perhaps a bit on the boring side. On the other hand, we had dinner at the same restaurant and it was very good.
Unfortunately, there's no space in the lobby to sit and rest for a bit or plan an outing, etc. There are two large armchairs on either side of the reception desk. It would be best to put two smaller chairs next to each other, or a small bench so you can sit with family or friend and be able to have a conversation.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, kudos to the excellent staff and management at the Goldener Adler, especially the very kind and friendly reception staff. less
