For many this is a great stop over hotel but my experience was a little disappointing.
When I booked I asked for two rooms next to each, this was several months in advance. When we arrived we got rooms on different floors even after asking again. They said they were too busy to sort the issue out.
I also emailed in advance to see if the restaurant would be open as other reviewers said they closed at weekends, they did not respond.
Fortunately the restaurant was open as the hotel is a little remote. However we wanted to sit outside on the beautiful patio terrace and while there where tables we were told this was not possible? Immediately after we were seated another family were seated outside and since I learnt when we arrived that dinning is on a first come first serve basis I was some what disappointed, all bar when group then got outside tables, we felt like second class citizens.
The waitress tried to rush us to order and failed to offer us bread unlike our fellow diners outside. When I refused to be rushed she went on a go slow, I can only guess this was a little game at my expense! Oh what joy it is to pay to be mugged off as my sons would put it!
Once ordered I got a different larger dimmi bottle of wine (more expensive) and my son got different ice cream. I did question this but my French failed me.
They had salad and meat bars for self service but the meat was out 3 hours before opening (it was there on display when I arrived at the hotel, you could see it from the first floor balcony) and the only takers, other than some fearless guests, where see some flies. So while the food was great, and it was, I would imagine that the hotel have low hygiene levels so watch out you have been warned.
Another thing is that the hotel have a formula menu, a set menu which for us meant that we got a main and desert for 20 Euro, great but we quickly realised that the individual prices for our food worked out to be cheaper. At the time of writing I don’t know the cost of the meal as they did not issue a receipt at the end of the meal. I will be interested to see what they claim our bill will be in the morning? Will it be the lower price and what wine will they charge me for???
As you may of guessed it I’m writing this while at the hotel, why because I’m fed up with a sub standard service. If you don’t push them, don’t need WiFi as it’s rubbish and don’t care about your dinning experience then the hotel is for you. However if you push a little then my experience of this hotel is that things quickly fall apart.
Best Western your brand is not what it has to be and has been, sloppy standards in service are not acceptable and double standards where guests feel unworthy is a recipe for disaster.
So Best Western reply to me but please take on board my frustrations since my time in writing this review has been given not only for other guests but also for you, but you really do need to listen.
