This hotel would have been OK...it is well situated, clean and the rooms are not too small with modern bathroom facilities, BUT we could not understand why Management thought it wise to have FULL CONTROL of the air conditioning. The temperature outside was in the mid-30's (hot) and the room became unbearably hot...when we asked for the air conditioning to be switched on, it was switched on but TURNED OFF soon after??? Polite ignorance of this fact was conveyed by Reception staff to us...
In addition, we found the Management's rules, in particular the holding of Passports until departure, ridiculous and somewhat insulting to this hotels' guests...especially when payment of the room was FULLY MADE before and confirmed. In addition the Reception refused to return the Passport, until the Car Parking Ticket was returned... RUDE lack of trust in clients' honesty!!
All we can conclude is that Management thinks that the people who choose to stay in this hotel may have dishonest intentions... RIDICULOUS....

About the other complaint about passports, that has been as I see the major problem for you, I would like to point out that hotel managment probably is not RIDICULOUS, RUDE and SUSPICIOUS as you wrote... Maybe this prassi had been put in practise because it happened so many times that people simply forgot to give us back permissions and left.
Did you contemplate this possibility BEFORE INSULTING MANAGMENT?
Moreover, we see many many guests everyday and I can assure almost nobody complained about this hotel rule or considered it a LACK OF TRUST.
In all the world and in all the businesses there are different rules and prassi more or less reasonable for users, but people accept them and stop. Only in turism industry users suppose to know and do better than workers how thinghs should or shouldn't be.
We serenely accept tips, advice, complaints for a bad service and try to improve us, but when people say that hotel, room, facilities and location were ok but... and start to explain us how we should work - moreover insulting- I think is not management "RIDICULOUS, RUDE and SUSPICIOUS" (your words) but guests wiseacre.
In the end, if you didn't want to leave one passports (WE ASK FOR JUST ONE, NO TWO) at front desk for all your stay, you could simply refuse the parking permission and park in the public parkings near the hotel.
