I've stayed at hotels all over the USA, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This was by far the worst experience of them all. The hotel is in a neighborhood that looked and felt very unsafe. The parking lot is not secured. The hotel is not close to any tourist attractions or decent restaurants. The breakfast offerings at the hotel were disappointing.
This was also the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at...literally. There were people coming and going into some room on my floor that was to be used by people with family in the area hospital...some type of waiting room. Unfortunately, they were loud as they came and went at 1 AM, 2AM, etc.
The hotel offers an unpredictable shuttle. The first shuttle driver was super helpful and friendly...the second shuttle driver was horrible. The shuttle should be useful since parking in Baltimore's downtown is very expensive. However, when night came and we were ready to return to the hotel, we eventually found out that the shuttle had departed at least seven minutes ahead of schedule. We were stuck - I'm not kidding - waiting at the shuttle area, in the dark of night, with a guy walking around claiming that he was Satan! I called the hotel, who told me to call the shuttle driver. He never returned my calls. When he showed up for the final shuttle of the night, he chastised me when I got into the shuttle! I had not said a single word to him and he became angry with me. I don't know if he was angry because he was in trouble for leaving ahead of schedule with the previous shuttle???
When we returned to the hotel, the front desk did not have an explanation for the shuttle problems. However, the shuttle driver stood by us at the front desk, apparently to hear any complaints I made about him. I contacted Best Western corporate about this. I was shocked that they never returned my e-mail documenting the incidences, especially since I'm a rewards member.
This hotel was also way over-priced for what little it offers.
I don't know how this hotel gets four stars. It's not even worth the one star that TripAdvisor so feebly requires us to give, in order to leave a review. less
