I had a quick overnight in Great Falls prior to an early morning flight, I wanted something affordable, free airport shuttle, and near the airport (pretty much all Great Falls hotels are near the airport).
Due to the holiday weekend the hotel was fairly busy. I made the mistake of booking a room adjacent to the large pool area. I would recommend the poolside rooms for families, for anything else request something away from that area. The poolside rooms have small patio furniture on the outside of the glass doors with direct access to the pool. While in theory this could be nice, outside of my room there was a few people chatting late into the night with little regard for those in the surrounding rooms.
While overall a nice property, I think the hotel rooms are a bit past their prime. The lobby and bar/ restaurant have been updated within the last few years and are quite nice, the rooms on the other hand could use a proper refresh. As mentioned, the walls are very thin, and the bedding/ pillows weren't very comfortable.
I've stayed at the BW Heritage many times over the years and will continue to do so. All things considered the value is good and a solid option for an overnight stay. As an aside I think in general the BW rewards program isn't as worthwhile as other hotel programs, however I still maintain Diamond status with the brand. As is often the case in Montana, loyalty goes largely unrecognized. On this stay I did not receive a "welcome gift" or a complimentary room upgrade (I don't think they have any upgradeable room inventory). less
