Just spend one awful night at the BW Plus Gold Country Inn in Winnemucca, NV. I requested a “quiet” room. There was little to choose from so we ended up in 201 on the second floor. I doubt there is a worse location in this hotel as far as proximity to road noise. You will hear traffic from BOTH the rear and front of the hotel. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the overpowering scented deodorizing spray used in our room was enough to choke you! Even with the window open fully, it was still nauseating for hours. If you insist on staying here, bring plugs for your nose and ears. The icing on the cake was the rude and unprofessional staff at the front desk. I’ve been traveling this year and have spent over 45 nights at various hotels. The woman on duty was by far the most unfriendly I’ve encountered in all my stay. As for me, I’m done staying at all Best Westerns and I’m a rewards member. If you’re in Winnemucca, I recommend staying down the road at the at the Holiday Inn Express. You’ll most likely sleep much better. less

Thank you for your comments concerning your visit to our hotel. I appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel and hope you will accept my apologies for any inconvenience you experienced.
I am concerned that you had multiple problems during your stay. No guest should have the experience you encountered during your stay. First off, I spoke to the housekeeping staff about the amount of room deodorizer they used. I explained to them that while they may be used to the smell, our guests weren't and I would prefer a guest have a fresh clean room, then be overpowered by the scent. As far as the noise from the road, the only way that can be best address to make sure that guests who come in are given a room that meets their needs. Normally, we would of been able to move you to a room that was at the other end of the hotel and much quieter, but we are in the middle of putting in new carpet and furniture which limits our choice of rooms. Half of our rooms were down at the time of your stay. I definitely would like to know if the staff that was rude and unprofessional was during your check in or check out or both. Our customer service is what I take pride in and I do not tolerate rudeness at any time. Please reach out to me so we can discuss your stay further and I can make sure you are compensated for the lack of service and the bad nights stay.
