Stopped at this best western for a hotel room for me and my family because I’ve always had great experiences with best westerns. I have received a veterans discount in the past, but when I asked about this the woman working there told me no before I even finished asking. The woman working was older and had glasses and white hair. When she approached she had a mask around her neck (totally understandable considering the current events). There was also some tables lined up in front of the front desk so that guests would be kept back at least 6 feet. As she started speaking she put her mask on, and gave myself and my sister an extremely dirty look. After inquiring about a room large enough for our family of 4, we were settled on a room and ready to pay. However, after cutting me off about the veterans discount, she then raised her voice when we said we would take the room and said “do you have face masks?!” This was after we had already spoken about the price and room options, and after she had approached us to begin with without her mask on. We explained that we didn’t (where we live didn’t have any, and we didn’t have anything to make them with). I asked if they were mandatory and she said “no but it’s what’s right and you need one”. She then just stared at us until we finally left and had to get a hotel room elsewhere. Again, I understand the current situation, but we were being as careful as possible. I’m extremely upset and disappointed that we weren’t able to get the room. less
