I am in that area several times a year and this was the first time staying at this hotel. I stayed there particularly, as it was rated well and it was centrally located for my needs and the nightly charge was on a par with many of the other hotels. When I checked in it appeared to be fine. It actually went downhill from there. The hotel advertises that it had a bar and lounge so that if I needed to have a snack later in the afternoon or early evening that option was available.
As it turned out, that option wasn't available; the bar and lounge were closed totally. After a very long flight, I didn't there till late,I was a little on the hungry side. No food on the plane. I went upstairs to my room and went to bed.
I left first thing in the morning to go to breakfast with family. I was out all day and didn't return to the hotel until late. To my surprise when I walked in the room the bed was not made, there were towels in the bathroom still from my showers the night before and then the morning, the garbage was not emptied. I went downstairs to ask WHY? I was told that I would have had to ask for all of that. Never never never before have I ever had to ask to have clean towels, garbage emptied and sinks and bathrooms wiped out. They try to convince me that it was Covid 19 that made them do that. WHAT? Not emptying garbage, taking out wet towels from two days and that wiping out the bathroom or the sinks? That's mighty unsanitary as far as I'm concerned. I was there for five days not once was the bed made or the sheets or pillowcases changed. Again I would never stay there! less

I am very sorry we did not exceed your expectations for your stay. Under normal circumstances our lounge is open from 5 pm - 9 pm, but due to COVID we have not been able to reopen it. We will not be able to safely staff the lounge and provide the quality of service you expect until the COVID situation ends. We are still serving a full, hot complimentary breakfast every morning, and we also have a marketplace with snacks and frozen meals such as burritos and personal pizzas.
Never never never before has there been a global pandemic which put our country into total lockdown and shutdown businesses nationwide. Of course things are going to be different now. We will not risk your safety nor the safety of other guests by entering stayover rooms. We also cannot afford for a staff member to catch COVID. If one person tests positive we would all have to quarantine and the hotel would be shut down completely. I'm sorry that you feel like we are neglecting our duties but we have all had to adjust due to the COVID situation and it is not fair of you to refuse to adjust yourself too. We are happy to meet you at your door and provide fresh towels, or change your trash, or re-stock your coffee and water upon request. We just cannot risk everyone's safety by providing full stayover services.
We are taking major steps in ensuring every room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in between each guest to keep both you and ourselves safe during this time. We hope you will consider returning to stay with us when the COVID situation ends so that we have a chance to show you why we are rated so well.
