Okay, Good for a Night.
Travelling from Thunder Bay to Winnipeg is a long haul at night with three kids at the end of August. I had booked at this Best Western as it was rated #1 in Dryden. When we arrived it was well after midnight, and when we entered the lobby the music was loud as a wedding was going on in one of their convention rooms upstairs. When we checked in, the Front Desk lady gave us a coupon for complimentary breakfasts which I thought was nice.
We found our room down a long hallway, and happily we did not hear the wedding music. When we arrived in our room, I called the front desk as I asked if the cot was going to be delivered for my third child. She said it was coming, she also said she made a mistake in giving us the breakfast coupon and that we were NOT entitled to use it, and NOT to use it. I thought that was extremely strange and poor hospitality on the part of the hotel. Being that there was five us of, the coupon was only good for three of us as well.
Next morning, we went down to the restaurant, I showed the head waitress the coupon and told her exactly what the front desk had said. She said if Front Desk gave it to you, you can certainly use it. THANK YOU!!! Most Best Westerns we have stayed in the breakfast is complimentary. The food was good in the restaurant, and the waitress came around several time for coffee and tea refresh. Good service here!
The hotel room itself, is starting to look a little worn. New carpets and curtains would help. I found it a little tight as well with a cot in the room. We had put the cot by the window, but there wasn't enough room to open the door if the cot was unfolded. The beds were very comfortable and had lots of pillows on it. I did like having the bathroom sink outside the bathroom. I like that. See pictures. Being that we were only staying one night, and leaving the next morning I wasn't going to book two rooms.
I did like the big lobby, there is a pool, but the kids didn't have time to use it. I liked that we were able to park our truck and boat outside across from our room. The hotel is pet friendly, as we were bringing our pet cockatiel back home with us and they charged a pet fee. The restaurant was good, and there is a lounge as well. If you like full service hotels, I would recommend this one if you are passing through Dryden. This hotel is right on the Trans Canada and has lots of parking. less

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I do apologize for the poor communication with our Front Desk. I was pleased to read that our restaurant team honored the voucher for you. I have discussed your stay with my team and have used your valued comments to improve the way we communicate to our guests. Thank you for choosing to stay with Best Western.
