We arrived late and had a late check in at 10:30 P.M. The last thing I wanted to do was call the front desk to tell them that there were ants in the room. There were ants all over the desk area. I asked about moving to another room, however, there was only one queen suite room with a sofa bed in the hotel. There was no other room to be switched too. The overnight person was professional and offered to come upstairs to clean the area. The only thing I asked was for them not to use a strong bug spray. We had to open the window to get rid of the Raid that was used in the room. In addition, I was informed that house cleaning the next day would spray our room thoroughly and open to window to make sure that there was no odor. However, when I called downstairs to the front desk the next day after being gone most of the morning and the afternoon, the front desk person was unable to tell me if they had cleaned the room as promised and if they sprayed for ants. Needless to say, I don't think they sprayed our room as there were more ants but in the living room area where the sofa bed was located.
The location of the hotel was close to the freeway and near the areas we needed to be in the couple of days that we stayed at the hotel. Usually, I am pleased with my stays at other Best Western Hotels. The breakfast a good selection from omelettes, sausage, hard boiled eggs, waffles, pastries, breads and bagels. They had several cereals, coffee, and juices. In addition, I was not happy walking out of our room each morning to the smell of marijuana emitting in the hallway. In addition, the hotel has a sign that states no smoking but I guess they don't police their guests. Another issue is the hotel has a sign that states no pets in the hotel rooms. Well as I am walking to the elevator the first morning, there was a guest with a large pit bull.
I would have to think twice before I stay here in the future which is sad as I normally have good experiences at most Best Westerns I have stayed at. less
