We reserved 2 nights here and added a third since we were visiting family and friends. We used to stay here 15-20 years ago when it was under different management and thought it would be nice to stay again. Boy was I wrong! Check in was fine and the young lady at the front desk was very nice. Told me what a great rate I had gotten. Little did I know I probably could've gotten the same rate at a 5 star hotel, but it was Thanksgiving !
We got to our room and it was very dated with a musty smell. But we were tired . We called the front desk because the toilet kept running,they sent someone right away and it was fixed, so we thought. Breakfast was ok, continental, so you can't expect greatness, but it was packed it took 30 mins to put a coffee and make a waffle and they were out of waffle mix. I had woken up with a scratchy throat, thinking nothing of it I stopped and got cold medicine. We were getting ready to go to the beach when we picked up our bags from under the suitcase stand and everything, bag, towels bathing suit was wet! We called the front desk and someone came, wet vacuumed the floor, took off the an panel and left not saying anything, off we went for our day. We came back, went to bed but as soon as I was back in the room my head filled up. I was up several times during the night coughing and using the bathroom , trying not to wake my husband/daughter. But the toilet kept running. My husband got up, went to breakfast, and the toilet was still
Running. It was then that we decided that I was getting sicker and the mold/mildew in the room was making it worse. I called to try to cancel and the booking agency called the hotel and they refused a refund for the third night. So I went to the front desk and checked out and asked for a refund which was denied, I asked about a credit for a future visit and when the front desk girl asked her manager she said no/nothing. Also while I was checking out someone else was checking out and that front desk person( who originally checked me in) was talking about me in Spanish which I found to be very rude and unprofessional and uncalled for. Oh yes there was confusion about the rooms that she was checking out from (several rooms).
Not only does this hotel need updating, it also needs some education on professionalism . less
