Wife and I booked a room here for a few day getaway for some much needed alone time. Disappointment doesn't begin to describe our experience.
For starters, we booked a king suite, specifically wanting a couch and tub. When we arrive, nobody is at the front desk. Finally after 4-5 minutes, the front desk attendant peeks her head around a doorway, we watch her put a piece of candy in her mouth then come to us. We booked our room a month in advance, yet somehow all they have available is a handicap accessible room with no couch and no tub. The attendant gave us some song and dance about how since we booked through a third party we just get whatever room is available. Mind you this is over the audible smacking of their mouth as they work on the previously mentioned candy (gave not getting the room we wanted a real touch of class)
So we get to our room, and for starters, it's not very clean. Obvious stains on the carpet, the towels had strange stains on them, and the sheets didn't smell like clean laundry should. Especially the bathroom. The housekeeper definitely only did the bare minimum to check a box, but the bathroom tile was mildew stained, and the ceiling had parts coming down from previous water damage. The mattress should have been replaced two years ago, and the mini fridge was cool at best and smelled strange.
The second day we woke up to our room smelling oddly like cigarettes (neither of us smoke) and when we discovered it was coming from the hallway, and the door not closing properly was why it was coming in. We said something to the front desk and got "we're sorry about that". Not really what we wanted to hear about smoke in what's supposed to be a smoke free hotel.
On Monday the pool was closed all day. The front desk really had no answer as to why, they 'were sorry, they'd look into it'
Multiple times during our stay we voiced being unhappy about our accommodations, and all we got was a lot of sorry, and several times asked if we were rewards members because they'd give us some extra points for our troubles.
What a joke. Don't believe the 4+ star reviews, this place is atrocious. This is without pointing out that there is no security at all, none of the doors to the hotel lock after dark, they use the fire lane for parking, and frankly despite the somewhat modern look of the exterior, the interior is severely dated and just in poor repair. Not what you'd expect for 100+ a night. We're just happy we didn't get bedbugs. less
