I booked this hotel well in advance of the Ryder Cup golf tournament - there were not a lot of hotel choices in the Twin Cities area UNLESS you cared to spend several hundred dollars for a room that normally books at or around $100/night. Not worth it to me - we just needed a place to lie our heads. Usually, I don't often have issues with the Best Western chain but it seems lately to be a disappointment...as this place was.
Prior to turning-in for the night, my wife and I went down to the hot tub and had it to ourselves. Awesome jets and very powerful which felt good on sore backs and shoulders...and this, unfortunately, is the only positive thing I can say about our one-night stay here.
There was a slew of kids at the hotel (soccer event) - shouldn't be a problem but when the parents remain downstairs whooping it up and the kids have the run of the floors running up and down, I have a problem, especially when it starts pushing 10:00 o'clock. But thinking we would eventually get some sleep didn't happen as we found the mattress to be rock hard which, after being on the road for several hours from the previous day, we could have used a comfy bed. To make things worse on this unusually warm Saturday, the air conditioning unit turned on/off all night - I could not get it to run on a single temp/speed so we were up when the unit clicked-off and were startled once it clicked-on...that makes for very little sleep.
So who is hungry? Well...you may want to go elsewhere! I had a bowl of cereal...stale cereal...but the milk was ice cold! My wife and I also had a danish, and that was good but everything else was pretty lame - they had your typical fake(?) spongy egg thingie - just a blah breakfast and not worth mentioning.
The hotel is off of the main drag - it's easy to find and it's in a quiet area. This wasn't the worse BW we have stayed at but there is a negative trend occurring with the BW chain and the word "best" needs to be rethought. less
