Apparently this hotel is under renovations which is fine but no where on their website nor at the front desk are you informed that construction will go on through the entire night. Was in Room 601. Decent size and beautifully renovated bathroom. The room had a huge closet, a microwave and mini fridge which is great. Room sounds wonderful but our stay was a nightmare.
First the fire alarm went off 3 separate times during the night. Soon after that all we could hear was this incredibly loud, continuous beeping. Looked out the window and saw a delivery truck trying to back up into a narrow space at Walgreens across the street. It took the driver about an hour to actually get into the space. After 45 minutes we had had enough and called the front desk and were moved. The woman at the front desk was quite understanding and brought us up the new room key. It's was about 1am when we move to the new room in the other building.
We moved to Room 1011 and although it was a suite, we went from bad to worse on many levels. Th construction noise was non stop. I couldnt fall asleep until about 5:30am as the continuous beeping was heard the entire time. I slept a total of one hour. As a side note this room is outdated which is fine but poorly designed which is a bit of a hazard. I cut my foot on the base of the kitchen cabinet although I had slippers on. The metal threshold in the kitchen was detached on one side making it a tripping hazard or leading to another foot being cut.
After a night of no sleep we went and spoke to a young lady at the front desk. She was understanding and professional. She was able to fulfill our requests and we checked out. She was able to get us a full refund for our stay. That is what I call very good customer service. It's a shame the facility doesn't measure up to the customer service quality.
As a side note construction seems to stop at about 3pm which doesn't make sense. Why would you have construction stop during the day and run it continuously at night?
I think this could possibly be a good stay if the construction was fully completed, the sliding doors were sound proof and the rooms updated and re-designed. I don't think this will happen. I would never reconsider going back to this hotel. It's too bad as it's in a great location but just noisy. If you can deal with continuous noise then this place is for you otherwise find some where else to stay.
The hotel should advise every guest and booking about the noise. Let the guest make an informed choice and not pretend it doesn't exist and hope the guest doesn't complain. Bad management decision. less
