On our way to the Oregon Coast my husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary with a night our along the way. We had thought we would eat and stay in Hood River Oregon, but when we drove around we did not find anything on the Columbia River that suited our tastes. We ate dinner at a nice pub in Hood River and decided to drive on to Cascade Locks. We stopped at the Best Western Plus Columbia River Inn and due to the lateness of the evening we booked a room.
What a room, large with two queen beds a full couch, chairs and table. Very, very clean and right on the Columbia River. Out our window was the Bridge of the Gods.
Now, you need to know that staying right on the river, there are trains running all night long, no horns or whistles, but lot of rail activity. We could even see the trains on the Washington side of the river. The hotel provided nice soft earplugs, but I did not need them. While I heard the trains, it was not enough to keep me awake for long.
In the morning, we were given a full breakfast at the restaurant next door. Again with a full view of the river.
This is definitely a place to stop. There is a nice park nearby. There is very little life in Cascade Locks. We wanted a nice room to relax in and enjoy and we really enjoyed this one. less

I am pleased you discovered Historic Cascade Locks, thank you for staying with us. Yes we are a quiet tiny town but we pack a punch in million dollar scenery. I hope you find your way back to the Gorge and we invite you to stay with us again.
