Rates should reflect the minimal services offered

With the pandemic still ongoing and in effect, much of the services at the hotel were closed. The lounge/bar... closed. Complimentary breakfast... altered to a paper bag with a granola bar, juice box, apple, and a stale danish. I would have been less offended if nothing was offered at all. Because of this, I would have expected the rates to have been reflected positively. Nope... $160/night after taxes. The night previous we literally paid half that in another town and received more and better.
As for the rest of the experience, the room was very large and spacious with a king bed, HD tv (too small for the size of the wall and room), and all other amenities and comps associated with a hotel of this calibre. My room faced the highway (even numbered room) and the large commercial vehicles like to take a run up the hill; the noise is quite noticeable. I would recommend an odd numbered room on the other side; perhaps a less rude awakening.
Service was pleasant and professional. Property was clean and Covid-19 protocols were in place. The elevator worked to every floor except mine (2nd); not a big deal. The stairs were convenient and faster that waiting for the elevator that did not work properly. I did notice that in the elevator there was a sign attesting to the fact that this Best Western rated highly according to Trip Advisor... except there was a big typo on the sign. Amusing...
Anyway, a generally pleasant stay... I just cannot understand how they justify charging what they do given what they do not offer. 2 stars. less

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.
We always appreciate the feedback. We have taken this time to do some work on our lounge, both on our main floor, and back of house as well. I'm hoping that we finish the work soon and can get back to our pre-covid offerings as I know a lot of people are missing it right now. Being located on the highway it is possible to hear cars driving by, but typically at night it gets pretty quiet as we are still a fairly small town. For our rates, we have worked hard to keep them as low as possible even with our high demand during the warmer months. Right now we are quite busy with groups just like yours, as well as a lot of guests who are in town to work as Trail is growing and always seems to have a few projects on the go.
I hope we see you again once things open up fully! Thank you.
