Disappointing for a Best Western

My beautiful wife and I were looking to sneak away for an evening and thought the new Best Western in Sylvan Lake would be a great choice. Right on the Main Street with a King bed “ Lake View “ and a jacuzzi... we were very excited to try out a new place. It was easy enough to find, plenty of parking out back. Brand new building, very friendly staff ...... wow the room was very small, this was the upgrade ?????? Very disappointing, yes a Lake view, when you stand at the window, can’t sit and look out the window at the lake. Very clean and new .... but very basic and minimal to say the least. I have stayed in a Super 8 hotel in remote Northern Alberta that was 10 X better. It was a Jet tub not a jacuzzi tub... one of the smallest tubs I have ever seen. This room was very disappointing to say the least... it looked like a great place, pool and everything else, we just never used or even looked at those things... we got up in the morning and went downstairs to take advantage of the Free Hot Breakfast..... no eggs, no hash browns, a couple sausages, again very disappointing. We waited for some more eggs, Etc to be brought out, the guy brought enough eggs for one person so we decided the wait was just not worth it... we were very disappointed with the entire stay... I can’t see staying at this place again. Considering that Sylvan Lake is filled with Million dollar mansions and is a must go to place during the summer this is a hotel that I would expect to find in Alix or Coronation.... I can’t imagine what the basic rooms have if this was one of the best rooms.. less
