Can’t really fault the place. Great service, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, good food and located close to the motorway network – what more do you want from a short weekend break? Tad noisy on the road outside but that's not the hotel's fault and what may affect one person might not be an issue for another..
Bedrooms are comfortable, spacious, clean and have the linen and towels changed daily. There’s plenty of wardrobe and drawer space available, a hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities, flat screen TV, small desk and free safe. The shower room is perfectly adequate for a short stay and has instant hot water. The power shower hasn’t the capability to blow-ya-skin-off, but does the job all the same.
Food in the brasserie is, in my opinion, on the expensive side, although the bar menu is more affordable if it’s a simple bite like a burger you’re after. The breakfast is to die for – all-you-can-eat full English as well as continental on offer.
I would recommend, however, booking a deal which includes meals in with the price of the stay. For example, we stayed three days/two nights which included breakfast both mornings, evening meal in the brasserie for our first night and a full bottle of wine on arrival for just over £90. Although there may be cheaper variations and deals to be had, we were nonetheless happy with what we paid.
Free ample parking – you just have to key in your registration number onto reception’s electronic system.
Free Wi-fi – you’ll receive the password(s) on checking in.
Didn’t try the spa amenities, so can’t comment.
Without question, we will stay here again sometime in the near future. less
