My daughter and I were on a road trip up the California coast. When we got into Carmel, it was dark, 7:00 pm or so, and the town seemed to be hopping! At least, all the parking spaces seemed to be occupied!
We found the hotel, checked in, and attempted to park. It was lucky they told us about the parking above, because that's where we ended up. This hotel is a multi building, multi level place.
Our room was hot and a bit musty smelling when we got in, but we opened up the sliding glass door -- no screen, and after a bit, it cooled off and smelled better. Our room overlooked the road, and we needed to keep the windows open during the night, so it was a little noisy, but not bad. The room had a fireplace -- which we obviously didn't end up using!!
The room looked worn, but the queen bed was comfy enough. The bathroom was clean, and seemed newer than the rest of the room.
BUT, the Internet was SLOW...very SLOW!!!
I wish we would have had more time so spend here, as the town seemed like it would have been really cool to explore. We walked to a coffee shop the next morning before taking off, but if we came again, I would want to stay longer! But probably not at this hotel -- my husband needs faster internet service! less
