I stayed at this hotel for 5 days for a small meeting. The breakfasts and restaurant were great, and the service was excellent. The hotel is situated in a good spot- it's within walking distance of downtown but outside of the core tourist area so you can get a feel for 'regular' Edinburgh. The hotel is also situated in a renovated older set of townhouses. This has its pluses and minuses- the hotel certainly doesn't appear or feel, and isn't like institutional Best Westerns (For any Americans used to Best Westerns, this is much nicer), which is great. But, older buildings have their quirks, like large gaps under the doors to the rooms that let in hallway light. Parts of the building also seem a bit run worn. But overall this is a very nice hotel and I would recommend it.
One drawback- they do have wifi, but it is one of the slowest networks I've seen in a while. less
