On November 25, 2016, we stayed at the Brooklyn Bay Best Western hotel. We are Marriott Platinum members and generally stay in Marriott properties, so we are used to that standard of hotels. We reserved two rooms because we had a British visitor with us. Although nothing fancy, the Brooklyn Bay property exceeded our expectations.
Talking to the man at the desk prior to our arrival date, he was kind and patient with my questions. I was concerned about parking space and needed to be assured that we would definitely be able to park there (we were). Others at the desk during our visit were pleasant and very helpful.
The hotel was newly renovated attractively. The lobby, hallways and rooms are all done in contemporary styles and colors. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness there. Everything was spotless, including the breakfast room where often, in hotels, it can get somewhat messy as guests help themselves to food.
It's a good location, though on a city street with no particular "views". VERY nearby is the Bay (I think that's what it is) and we were able to walk a short block to a very nice restaurant right on the water ----Il Fornetto. It has a great view there, good service and very nice food. There are other restaurants very nearby as well.
We would stay at that hotel again. The room was quiet, good lighting, plenty of places to sit (THREE chairs----we've actually stayed in rooms that have only ONE chair at the desk, no place else to sit except on the bed) and a large flatscreen HD TV. The spacious stall shower is preferable for us, than a tub. What's not to love? less
