stayed at the brandon location as i have a few times over the past couple years, but this time will be my last. things have gone down hill over the last year and im baffled at why. staff at check in was ok but very hard to understand as he spoke very quietly and had a thick accent. i asked a couple questions about places that were locally owned (not chain) for my supper and was given the usual Pizza hut and Boston Pizza ...i had wanted a king room and was given a standard queen room, yet i had specifically asked at check in to ensure it was a king? didnt bother to go back as i figured the language barrier would just continue being an issue( im french and i have a hard time with soft spoken accented voices..my problem not theirs). the room was ok but was miffed at the over all look being that of someone else had been in there and sat on the bed, remote was out and the binder with info was open and on the tv stand?? but the room seemed to have been cleaned except for the paper cup covering the sprinkler on the wall up by the ceiling...weird... then in the middle of the night like around 3 am or so ( was so tired i didn't pay that much attention to exact time) to constant droning sound..went to check it out in my pjs to find the overnight staff vacuuming the front lobby carpet??!!! wth?? who does that in the middle of the night?? i was so confused by this i just went back to my room and tried to sleep again. weirdest experience other than the last time i stayed i had a housekeeper walk into my room unannounced, thankfully i was dressed, but at 930 am they shouldnt just be walking into rooms without even a knock when check out is at 11. less
