We stayed in Eureka for a couple of days, and this hotel was located on the south end of town. Good place for pets, as there are lots of vacant places to walk the dog, including a short walk to the water. Nearby restaurants were good places within walking distance. Room was nothing special, but clean and spacious. There was a strong cleaning product smell when we first walked in, but it might have been because we had a pet room. Quiet surroundings. A large mall next door that is not fully occupied, and a lot of campers/trucks/cars park on the street next to the hotel (did not feel unsafe, however).
Breakfast was great - just like pre-COVID! Waffles, eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. There were restrictions as far as masks and gloves were concerned. Most people followed them.
Not sure why the hotel was so expensive, but I felt that it was expensive for what we got. Plus we paid an extra $60 for the dog each night, which is much more than other hotels we stayed at. Still, it was a good option for the area. less
