Property was ok. Bit confused about why we eventually discovered two of the sliding doors to our 2 B/R apartment were wide open and unlocked behind the curtains - felt a bit dodgy. Also, if travelling as a family, be aware that our 2 B/R apartment wasn't a true 2 B/R apartment - it was actually a studio plus a 1 B/R accessed from their private hallway by a door. OK for us as our kids are 16 & 21, but, not so good if you have little kids as they could easily disappear out of the apartment without you even knowing and then, of course, not be able to get back into the private hallway without a key. Also, bedding was supposed to be 2 twin beds in one of the rooms of our "2 B/R", but both were queen beds. My 21 year old ended up going and staying at a friends place instead as she wasn't thrilled at the idea of sharing a bed with her sister - they're a bit too old for that apparently. Biggest issue, though, is the far too casual/relaxed attitude of the staff member in reception. We were checking the available frozen meals before we ducked out to do some stuff in case we needed to grab some on our return if we didn't get time for dinner before hand. Fortunately, I'm big on reconfirming things and double checked their opening hours to confirm that they would be open until 10pm as their sign and website clearly indicated. No, apparently, it was a Friday night and pretty quiet so the woman at reception was closing up and heading home early (like 7.30-8.00pm early). The included breakfast also was noted as 3 different times - website says one time, information in room says different times altogether and neither match the times we were told when we checked in. Just totally unprofessional really. less

Thank you Angela for the taking the time to do a review and sorry your stay did not go as expected. It is of concern so we have looked into it your booking that came through a third party website and so we have had a discussion and resolved part of the issue with our third party website representative so in the future we will receive the right requests when a two bedroom booking is made in the future. In your case no requests came through on your booking regarding two single beds so we are pleased you brought this to our attention. The two bedroom apartments usually consist of one queen bed in the 1st bedroom and 1 queen bed in the 2nd bedroom, however another bedding configuration of two single beds can be requested in the 2nd bedroom subject to availability. We have taken measures to make sure we receive the right requests in the future. Also we have spoken to the staff member on duty on that evening regarding your concerns and checked her departure on camera it was just before 10 p.m and the latest dinner delivery was 8.45 p.m. It is custom to do preliminary pre-roll audits early in the evening especially if there have been dinner deliveries and it may look like we are closing early. In case you weren't aware here at Best Western Plus Ascot there is always staff on site 24 hours. We hope the rest of your trip went well.
