This hotel has potential and wasn’t the worst I’ve stayed in, but also was very uncomfortable. We would have left if my rate had been refundable, but we stuck it out and made the best of it. Unpleasant odor upon entering the hotel- bad quality cleaners permeating the general smell mixed with stale. The room we were given was absolutely funky with its odor. The air conditioner was blowing a bad mildewy dusty smell out, ruining the air quality of the room. We couldn’t have it on and breathe. The front desk clerk was not able to accommodate a room change but did give us a turbo high speed fan to use they didnt really have a low setting, so we used it with a roar going in the room. This room was dense with a bad smell and feel that indicates it clearly needs to be well cleaned or changed out. This location should invest in replacing the carpeting with hygienic dust free flooring, and replace its air conditioners. I’m not a general complainer- this was a REAL issue with a real impact. My throat became sore through the night sleeping there and breathing the air in that room. I didn’t rest well because of it. $80 did not seem like a good value and I wished we’d stayed elsewhere. The pool was not clean, and the breakfast was not appetizing. We asked for a late check out so we could finish something we were working on and the clerk said he could only give til 11:45. Ridiculous. The standards of a Best Western should be higher, and customers deserve better. The employees also deserve better abd should not be working in such a rank environment. Change the cleaning products! In general the room was clean and quiet. There was a nice elephant made out of towels on the bed, which was a nice touch. It could be a much better place with the air quality upgraded. I hope it happens. less
