We stayed at the Best Western Plus Addison/Dallas Hotel one night so we could attend a funeral. We had two Best Western gift cards to use for the stay. I tried to present my phone that showed the gift card numbers. The clerk said to email them to an email address. I told the clerk that they are to be presented at check in, but he refused and said just to email the numbers, and he gave me a card with the email address.
After our stay, I called the Best Western toll-free number and spoke to a rep who said the clerk should have recorded the gift cards AT CHECK IN. She forwarded my request for credit to another department.
A few days later, I got an email from the manager of the hotel, saying it was too late to receive credit. I called her and told her that I had a printout of the gift cards and the same information on my phone. She said they checked their cameras and it only shows my phone in hand, and basically implied that I was lying (I will admit to being mistaken, apparently I did not have a print copy of the gift cards in hand, but I did have them on my phone).
I lost my temper at this point, shouted a few very ugly words, then hung up.
The so-called "gift cards" remain unredeemed. Watch out, they will cheat you.
By the way, the 'breakfast bag" we received for breakfast was a joke. Should have been called "barf bags". less

Our policy was explained during your check in time with enough time to receive a printout or an email with the gift cards to apply to the bill before check out time. Unfortunately, gifts cards were not received on time. We all work hard to help our guests providing options and your satisfaction is important to us. We will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future.
