I have never had disputes about a bill at a hotel, until I arrived here. I showed my email stating a quote for 3 nights, and they tried to get me to sign a statement accepting various things, including a new quote that was significantly higher (25% higher). I was told that I couldn't stay if I didn't sign. I signed, but bracketed off the new price, and stipulated that I did not accept it. I travelled 4,000 miles and reserved 2 weeks ahead, I wasn't ready to search for another hotel at this time (AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO DO THAT). I sent the email with the original quote to the office email, but got no response. When I left, I got another bill that was yet higher (over 50% higher than original quote). I again refused to sign. That new and higher amount was reflected on my credit card. I sent emails to the front office which again were not answered. I then sent emails to Best Western Customer service through website, but emails were not answered nor acknowledged. I called their line, but was put on hold indefinitely. I now must personally boycott Best Western.
Again, the rooms were fine, It’s near the F train. But something isn’t right about the communications, front desk personnel and billing.
One other thing: I asked for a room in the back to avoid traffic noises. They seemed to think they were helping me by giving me a “corner” room, which in fact did face the street. But with the air conditioner on, it was ok. The offer of a corner room further showed their lack of experience and desire to deceive rather than speak the truth. less
