My husband was staying in Plaquemine for a nearby job and I was here for a 4 days visit. This is the only chain hotel in the area and it stays full during the weekdays with oil field workers so it is actually easier to get rooms here on weekends. The rooms are spacious and the have smoking and non smoking. My husband had a king sized bed, sofa and coffee table, long dresser, desk and computer chair, fridge and microwave and didn't appear crowded. The large tv was mounted on wall in the bed area but is able to turn for viewing in the living area. The inernet was fairly strong and there was an ethernet cable on the desk.
I was very glad to see a small laundry room available although the ladies at the front desk did my husbands laundry for a very reasonable price. There is a small gym with several different machines to use and a small but nice pool area. The hotel serves a nice breakfast with eggs, burritos, sausage gravy, biscuits, waffles, cereal, muffins and more.
There is a great mexican restaurant within walking distance and other small locally owned restaurants close by.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again in the future. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price was average for a Best Western in a small town. less
