I normally pick out my own hotel when traveling for business, but the client needed regular scheduled meetings and was already staying here. The client paid directly for the room.
I typically prefer a hotel with indoor room entry due to safety, noise dampening, etc. This hotel offered exterior access, as far as I could see, in our building.
The room door did offer a side-lip to it in an attempt to offer additional security and prevent jimmying. However, it also prevented me from being able to use my security lock which I take on all trips and use to secure the room exit. The secondary lock is a chain, which isn't very safe.
The noise was higher than hotels with interior room access because the door and window were adjacent to a street intersection. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was significant. I did fine at night with earplugs.
The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful to my client when she checked me in.
I did try calling down to the front desk a couple of times early one morning to inquire about a shuttle bus I'd seen and it's schedule for airport drop off, however, the line rang without end. This was my only attempt at calling the front desk.
I did not request housekeeping service.
I didn't take advantage of any free breakfast, etc.
The room was very clean. There were two double beds, a table and two chairs, night stand and dresser, cabinet with microwave, coffee pot, and small fridge. There was a sink and vanity off of the room and a separate bathroom with tub/shower combo, sink, and commode.
The closet offered normal hangers, which I prefer, two folding suitcase bases, and a safe.
I primarily used DoorDash app for ordering in food delivery from various restaurants and the hotel seemed to be well situated among a variety of restaurants for this service.
Since I couldn't reach anyone at the front desk for shuttle information, I used the Lyft app to get a ride to Reagan National Airport, near to which the hotel is situated, and my driver arrived within ten minutes.
Note: I'm unclear if all rooms are the same, but my room (123) had quite a lip for the step up into the bathroom. It took me a good day of stubbing my toes and trying not to trip in before getting used to it. Proceed with caution.
Overall, I would recommend for the budget conscious. less
