I googled this place before I came and saw the 3 star reviews and a lot of negativity. So, didn't have the best feeling coming here, however, I thought to myself, every place deserves a chance, so as it was my first time visiting, I decided to let my first impressions count. And those reviews I saw earlier were very HARSH as this hotel deserves 4 star minimum. We were only visiting for the fitness/leisure club but what we found was fantastic. A gym that had limited space for gym equipment was very well done with adequate space to move around in as well. A good variety of gym equipment too (cardio, resistance, free weights & bodyweight resistance as well as your usual weights). The hydrotherapy spa is a little gem as it has seats that can offer your a aquatic back massage. Power jets that are extremely relaxing on your neck and shoulders, and it was the perfect temperature. The sauna was incredible, and considering I'm a member of my local David Lloyd's gym, I have to say Parkmore Hotel's sauna was better as the heat was just right. The steam room seemed to be too hot for heat (however I didn't really use it so couldn't comment on it - Pool seemed fine but I didn't use it due to time so can't comment). The only thing is the hot tub could have been warmer than what it was. But other than that, a leisure centre that is definitely underrated hugely. Now onto the food, the starter I had was the fishcakes which were delicious and that sauce (one of the best I've had - that's no joke). The main I went for was a vegetable korma curry with rice and the flavour of the curry was spot on, the rice was a little too plain but I still enjoyed it all. And even the diet coke was very refreshing.
A hotel that is very harshly underrated and deserves to be classed as a 4 star hotel at least. 5 stars wouldn't be a surprise at all. On their day/night, they're brilliant. And they were on point with everything today.
I've been to hotels that are 4 star and even 5 star that are a lot worse than this. Parkmore Hotel is a rough diamond in the making.
I'm definitely coming back when I get the chance.
Thanks, and good luck to all the staff at Parkmore Hotel, keep up the great work you're doing. It doesn't go unnoticed.
P.S. Ask one of the waiters/waitresses who I am, I was the guy sat on the end of the table closest to the kitchen area. I'm sure they'll remember. 🙂
