Tired and grubby but good location.

Exterior looks very dated and tired. Had to side step the fag ends and dead leaves to get in the front doors. Cross a reception area that smells of fish (the restaurant and bar also at the front). A pleasant receptionist checked us in. We braved the lift to go up to our room. Dated decor (everything in shades of brown) in the room. Turned back the bed covers to discover a black curly hair. Another one on the toilet too.
OK, lets have a coffee we thought: One of the cups had only been partially cleaned.
Let's see if the tv works: The remote control for the tv was covered in "gunge" (we handled it by covering it in tissues).
Powerful water pressure and lots of hot water. Had to stand in water up to my shins though as it wouldn't clear down the plug hole fast enough.
On the carpet, a previous occupants toe nail could be seen where the poor vacuuming hadn't reached into the edges.
On the plus side: 1. large car park, 2. we dined out at the recommended Sanam Tandoori - superb - taxi only £3.90, 3. free wifi, and, 4. we only had to stay one night.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, figuring that if the room was that dirty, the kitchen wouldn't be any better, and they wanted £9 each for the honour. Recommend Morrisons just down the road, fabulous eggs on toast for a quarter of the price. less
