We usually like Best Westerns because they are pet-friendly and decent value for the cost. Unfortunately, this location uses terribly strong-smelling cleaning solutions and air-fresheners . We arrived around 5pm, and after realizing the smell, we opened the room door, bathroom window, and turned on the ac/fan. We had to wait outside because headaches were starting. ugh. After an hour, the smell had not dissipated at all and we found it to be intolerable.
We were exhausted after a day of driving down from Jackson, WY and this was a pit stop on our way to Sedona, AZ. But, there was no way we could stay here. We decided to cut our loses and book a room further south at a Comfort Inn in Fillmore, UT. This was part of an 11-day road-trip with many stays at Best Westerns (for example, the Best Western in Fallen, NV, and the BW at The Riverside in Boise were both great), and a few other hotels. No other location had this problem with the intense, overwhelming, fake chemical smells.
I would NOT recommend this Best Western. We complained to the front desk and they just suggested we air it out. After an hour we let them know we had to leave. No refund was given, which technically is within their agreement, but not great customer service. Oh well. Hopefully they will learn about the dangers of indoor chemical scents (indoor air pollutants). The American Lung Association has a lot of good information on this topic. less
