Good location for central London & tourist attractions shame hotel didn't match.
Chose this hotel due to the location, and by the pictures on the hotels website. The hotel its self is a good 15 minute walk from the tube station but almost right outside the hotel is a bus stop with regular buses and you can be in central London in no time. We chose the tube worked perfect for us. The staff at the hotel seemed friendly and it was very clean and well presented. My husband and I chose to pay a bit more and go for the executive double room as we were here to celebrate my husbands birthday. I have to say we were dissapointed with the room, the website for the hotel showed a massive room with lovely table and chairs in window massive bathroom etc and extras such as slippers dressing gown extra toiletries, when we went to our room it was very small and to us it felt like a standard room with the extras added to make it an executive room!!!! We asked at reception if we were in the right room, the guy on reception checked and said I better get my supervisor, he came & said yes it's the correct room, we questioned about the photos, we know every room is not going to be exactly the same but you expect a certain size and standard. The supervisor/manager explained the room in the picture they only have that one, and this was in use and this is the one in the photos, not all rooms are the same. In fairness he looked to see if he could move us but on this night he could not he did offer to move us the following night to a family room as it bigger but to be honest I said no I couldn't cope with the stress I'm not the best at staying away as it is.. So we settled for what we had. Now to the restaurant, after our first day of sight seeing we were exhausted, so thought we would head back to hotel and eat, we went to restaurant and waited about five mins for a table, no problem it was in the middle of service, we were shown to our table and given a menu after 15 minutes no one had returned to our table to either take a drinks order or see if we were ready to order I fact we felt neglected, so we left and found a local restaurant who were happy to serve us. Then to breakfast I think the price was a bit steep for a standard English or continental, the breakfast was buffet style, the food its self was ok, but service could do with stepping it up a bit and being a bit quicker. We had to wait ten to fifteen minutes for the sausages as the had been left to run out.. And tea and coffe service is a bit on the slow side. The only other down side to hotel is if you get a room at the front of the hotel you have a noisy busy road right outside (London north circular I think) we had a fantastic time in London I wish the hotel matched the rest of our experience. less
