We chose this site as we have lately been pleased with the brand. This facility is on a busy street in the middle of everything; still, it has a courtyard in the rear with a nice pool which is quite attractive. The facility is old; there is effort to update rooms and spaces. This is a two story hotel with no elevator. It does, however, have a grand staircase to the second floor (Scarlet would have been right at home.) The property provides a lovely, courteous gentleman who must haul one's luggage up to the rooms on the second floor.
(When one comes back down in the a.m., it can be a struggle.)
The gentleman who.assisted us deserves kudos because my husband accidentally gave him a $20 bill within ones, and the gentleman came back to the room, knocked, and said he knew it must be an error. Classy and courteous!
The biggest negative was at check-in. I stood for 12 minutes while the receptionist, Maria, worked with the only other person in reception to find him, I assume, a lower rate. At no point, did she ever look up at me, acknowledge my presence, or even make eye contact. When I was finally able to approach her, handing her my reservation print-out and a credit card, without looking at me, she said, "You need an I.D." After that long wait, I had to return to my vehicle for photo I.D. The whole wait was ridiculous and annoying. The receptionist at check-out in the a.m. was very professional and charming. Quite a difference. For us, the senior rate of $139.00+ was reasonable for level of quality and time of year. Others were not so reasonably accommodated, I learned. P.S., virtually no TV channel options.
