They did not honor our four day reservation.
Taking my sick wife here was a major mistake. She has cancer and could die! The management could care less. There was a problem with our bank so I looked for help from our church back home and they wired the money to us the next day. By 1 PM the motel had their money, but not until they first harassed my wife, while I was out getting the needed funds. My daughter was with us at this time to witness the rude manager (David) coming right to the room where my wife was struggling with her illness, demanding payment that they knew full well was coming in a matter of an hour.
My letter to this rude man:
What world do you live in? You obviously ignored half of my story to you. I'm never renting from your motel, ever again. That should give you a reason to rejoice. Yes, get rid of folks who are and have been loyal to you over several years, or at least make their lives miserable. You obviously never read the Trip Finder reports that are sent in from time to time regarding our stays at Best Western. Up to this point we have sent in five star reviews. This time you get a 1 star only because I can't put a zero there! We were given a four day stay, day one was free. I'm surprised you didn't deny us our free night! We earned plenty of points to receive a free night after all of our returns to Best Western.
Then these folks pulled a con job on us, since this particular Best Western changed our room assignment before we had gotten there. Since we had already given you a credit card number, you didn't need to touch it until the morning of our departure on the following Wednesday morning. Instead you put us in a different room than was agreed upon before we left for Virginia, shame on you folks! I guess confirmation numbers mean nothing to your establishment! The courts will have a hey day with this one!!! This is where you folks stepped over the line, then you required us to make a new reservation for the changed room, big mistake.
Then you proceeded to treat these good customers over the years, like we were common criminals! Harassing my wife was the final straw. She has cancer, and this uncalled for stress only added to her weakened condition. Your people at the motel were aware that I had made arrangements to get money forwarded to me around noon, and finding a Western Union store was difficult, as folks kept pointing me in the wrong direction. The woman desk clerk in charge told me to not worry about the time frame, that she trusted us to do our best to have the money in by 1 PM. I was extended this two hour window, since we were staying two more days.
Going to my wife's room, and harassing her for the money, even though YOU KNEW I was out getting the cash from Western Union, another hey day for the courts. You folks obviously wanted to make a statement, that you didn't want people of our caliber staying at your establishment. Now the whole world will get to hear my story, and decide for themselves whether to spent a plug nickel at your place.
What should have been a great experience, as in the past with this motel, turned into a circus, and then an all out nightmare for my wife and I!!! If I lived in the area around Lynchburg, I would be up there boycotting your motel every day!!!
P.S. I feel sorry for the good people who have worked here over the years. The younger and newer staff is less friendly. The folks in the cleaning department are fine! less
