Best Western Oakridge Inn

We needed a place after visiting Crater Lake. Booked into the Best Western, although an older established chain we were Very Pleasantly Surprised! Terrific room, very clean, lots of TV channels, and a very nice and clean Laundry. Had been on the road for a few days and needed to do 3 loads of dirty clothes. Easy Peasy, just down a few doors from our room. It also had a pool, and the bathroom and shower in our room (#102) was huge! Definitely Highly Recommended! Road trip stop between Reno and Bainbridge Island. Perfect location, arrived from Crater Lake. The desk attendant was very friendly and accommodating. The room was VERY clean and overall quiet (until the trucks started jamming down the road in the morning, no big deal) We used the hot tub while watching the sunset. Abundant breakfast. Great experience. Surely recommend! I must point out the toiletry products offered are MAJOR coconut scented and I loved every drop and bar! less

A break point on our way from Seaside to Crater Lake National Park on our 2018 roadtrip. Very warm welcome to a nice property. Although on route 58 through Oakridge, it is very quiet & relaxing. Two Queen bed room has plenty of space, even offering full kitchenette facilities (however no utensils are included). Very clean & comfortable, good nights sleep ready for 2hour drive onto Crater Lake in morning. Has jacuzzi & small pool outside too. Definitely recommended for hospitality & quiet location. Only issue .... Although advertised as smoking & non-smoking, the whole property is NON-SMOKING. That was our only complaint as we booked a non-smoking room & paid about $15.00 MORE than for a smoking room. (Copy of rates held). To find out we wasted money at check-in was not pleasing. The receptionist said she had told the owners numerous time so they are aware of the mis-leading reservation information. However no adjustment was offered nor made as we had pre-paid. So am afraid they lose a rating star for mis-information & charging more. Nice Breakfast buffet included to start the day. less

Due to the remote location of this property I was unable to contact a guest via the guest’s cell phone. The first night of their stay I called the hotel 3 times, was transferred to the guest’s room and there was no answer. The next morning I contacted the hotel, expressed my concern in not being able to contact the guest and they informed me that the phone in the guest’s room was not working and they would move him to another room. The hotel also told me they have a new phone system. When I called the hotel the next evening to speak with the guest, they transferred me to the new room and there was no answer. This time the hotel operator offered to go to the guest’s room, but I declined and told them I would call back as the guest might not be back in his room yet. I called back in 30 minutes and the hotel phone was busy! I tried for over 2 hours to contact the hotel (10pm) and only got a busy signal. I contacted corporate BEST WESTERN to see if they could contact the property and they too were unable to contact the hotel. I was transferred to a corporate property/facilities management department and they too were unable to contact the property. This department told me they attempted to contact the owner of the hotel but their call went to the owners voicemail however.....they were unable to leave a message because the owners mailbox was full. One representative stated they sent a fax to the hotel asking if their phones were down, but did not receive a reply. Two nights in a row unable to contact an 80 year old guest who was visiting a friend who was dying! This morning I once again attempted to contact the guest, was transferred to their room and there was no answer. This time I called back and the hotel sent someone to his room.......where they discovered the ringer volume had been turned down.....WHEN DID IT BECOME THE RESPONSIBILITY OF A GUEST TO CHECK THE VOLUME OF YHE RINGER. When I attempted to reach the hotel once again this morning it was a constant busy signal again. BEST WESTERN customer care finally admitted to me today that they owner of the hotel purchased a new phone system, “dropped it off but did not tell anyone how to use it”. But because this property is not owned by BEST WESTERN there was nothing they could do. It is most likely that when I spent over an hour and a half trying to contact the hotel, between 10pm and midnight, that someone was talking on the only line that rang into the hotel....... WHEN YOU PAY $150/per night you expect to stay in a facility with phone service. There is no excuse for such a primitive telephone system. This is a very poor reflection on the owner of this facility. When I was able to speak with the hotel staff they were very helpful......but it is totally irresponsible for an owner to implement a new phone system and not ensure it is working! less

As you pull up to the check in area the hotel is very charming and clean with hanging flower pots and a very inviting and clean check in lobby with refreshments. I was given a ground floor double queen super roomy, very nice, modern, very clean room with clean carpet, fluffy clean beds with four pillows each, sparkling chrome fixtures in the bathroom, fridge, micro and flat screen in it own nook. Newer quiet A/C unit (yes I needed it at 97 degrees). Extras that make this hotel a great place to stay...... 2 complimentary bottles of water in your room, TV remote in a sanitized sheath, a 4 way charging unit on night stand that should accommodate all phones, pool, jacuzzi, a wonderful complimentary breakfast and a drive up A&W down the road!!!! Slept great in this flawless hotel in a beautiful town. less
