This motel may be the best in Dalhart, and is clean and relatively comfortable. However, it's an older building, near a very active railroad crossing, and our room still has a strong musty smell typical of older motels. The staff do a very good job, and they happily helped with a special request I had. We were placed in a pet friendly room that was about as far away from the grass behind the building as we could be, so dog walks required much more time. Breakfast was pretty good, albeit the usual for small BW inns. The AC unit was very confusing, requiring an always-on button to be pushed so that the cooling would continue all the time. Otherwise it would shut off every five minutes, then staff off for about 10 minutes, which wasn't enough to keep the room cool, despite being set to high. less
