We have stayed here for 2 nights. There is a lovely double bed but unfortunately no heating. After letting the phone ring for 20 minutes with no reply I walked down to reception where I was promised a heater. That was yesterday evening. The same man on desk this morning said he was very sorry he forgot but there is still no heater and it is 11 am the next day. Typing this with my coat on and it is 2 degrees outside.
Breakfast yesterday was overseen by a woman so grim and rude that you'd think the guests had insulted her. Cooked breakfast included cremated mushrooms and cold chopped tinned tomatoes. There wasn't even a jug of water this morning. As the other half has driven to a work meeting I am stuck here. Buses to Nottingham take 56 minutes and apparently it is harder to get to Derby so the location is not a bonus! We have a back room looking over the bins with some traffic noise. Less lucky people overlook a busy motorway. There is no gym and no pool but it is listed as 3 star. The bathroom basin is in the bedroom so if you want to use the facilities at night the light for the bathroom also lights up the bedroom as there is no separate switch. Awful. less
Leanne C, Front Office Manager at BEST WESTERN Nottingham Derby, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback regarding your recent stay with us.
In regards to the heating this should have been working in your room. I will ensure our maintenance team resolve this immediately. A room move or a heater should have been offered. I apologise for any inconvenience this caused as this does not live up to our usual high standards.
I have passed on your comments to the restaurant manager regarding the breakfast items and the service you received from the staff member as they use all feedback productively. I can assure you these areas will be addressed with immediate effect.
All rooms facing the motorway side are triple glazed in order to prevent any noise, alternatively we do have rooms facing the non motorway side which are quieter. I apologise for any disturbances you encountered
Bus routes are easily accessible from the hotel for Nottingham and Derby. The train station is also accessible from the hotel and takes 5 minutes in a car.
We hope we can restore your faith in the BEST WESTERN brand in the future.
