My wife and I had 7 nights at the Best Western in May. When we arrived after 5pm, the reception was shut. I called Carol (night shift) and was told that I was not on the list for checking in that day, even though I had a booking confirmation. There is a computer issue if you book via the Best Western web site. Sometimes these bookings do not make it to the hotel system.
Carol sorted the situation and upgraded us to a 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor. The room was large and comfortable. Rooms are serviced daily.
The hotel is in a good location, walking distance to the Museum and art gallery. The are a number of restaurants in walking distance. The bus stop for the Blue Cat bus is close by, next to the park in the next side street.
We found the staff very helpful. Carol again helped out on our last night, when our clothes dryer in the room stopped functioning when we were getting piles of laundry done. She found an empty room a couple of doors up, with a better dryer. We used that to finish the laundry. Our initial dryer had over-heated and came back to life after an hour. Take note that these electronic dryers can overheat. The old fashioned Simpson ones are better.
The use the the basement parking for our hire car was convenient, though sometimes spaces were limited as there are reserves spaces for owners of apartments. less
