Where do I begin? The first room we were given was on the second floor and it smelled like something died in there. In fact, as soon as the elevator door opened on 2 we were hit in the face with a really offensive smell. It smelled like rabid Cujo was foaming at the mouth with open sores and had been running loose all day. We immediately called down to the front desk and were told it was the only available room in the hotel. After marching right back down to the front desk and a few minutes of persistence, miraculously there was another room available on the third floor. It appeared clean and was spacious BUT all that glitters is not gold. The bed skirt was torn (!!!) and one for the mattresses had a huge indentation - this mattress needed replacing about 5 years ago. The other mattress was like wood. The bathroom caulking was gross. The tub mat was filthy with black spots - maybe mold - thank God we had some shower slides. It doesn't take much to upkeep a facility - to re-caulk periodically, replace a tub mat or either sew or replace torn linens. Something else upsetting, after we got our room key, we parked the car and used the side entrance to access the building. It was ajar with something holding it open. If you had a key, there's no need for this so anyone without a key was accessing the building for whatever reason. That's a security issue. If it weren't too late to cancel and go somewhere else, we would have. Sketchy hotel, avoid and go somewhere else. Trip Advisor's rating of this hotel is way off! less
