Dirty, Old, Loud, and Too Expensive - Don't Stay Here...

We were in town for business and had no option to stay anywhere else because most of the other hotels were sold out where we typically stay so I thought we would give the Best Western a try. Horrible decision. When we arrived, they didn't have our room that we paid for so they just gave us another room. No upgrade or reason. Just that something happened, and we had to give your room away. I asked the night staff to put us in a quiet room since we didn't arrive until around 2am. He said that he understood. After at least 20 minutes trying to check in, we finally went to our room. There was a 1980s lift (not elevator) to get us to the second floor with our luggage. It barely worked, and the door got stuck so my husband had to throw his weight against it after we were stuck in there a couple of minutes. The setup is like a motel so our door was facing the back alley, which the front desk said was a quiet area. The room decor was outdated. The microwave and frig were in the bathroom closet. The coffee maker was on the bathroom sink. There was hair in our tub and the shower curtain was grimy. The room was musty and didn't feel/smell clean. We went to bed around 4am only to be awakened by screaming children at a daycare directly outside of our room and the maids slamming doors. Quiet area, I don't think so. One of the maids was so lazy that she threw the garbage in the parking lot from the second floor balcony instead of walking it down or putting it in the lift. Needless to say, we got no sleep and had a horrible experience. For $250+ per night, we expected more. The front desk manager, Roberto, decreased our second night's stay but offered no explanation about our room or an apology. He's in complete denial about the poor condition of the hotel that led to our bad experience. Do not stay here. Go somewhere else. There are too many hotels in the area to waste your money here. less
