The welcome I got after a late arrival set the tone for my stay. The staff member was very friendly and kind, she just couldn't quite get the credit card transaction through. After finally sorting it out, I toddled down a lovely cobbled side street, and found my room in one of the three separate buildings that make up this place.
My room was a good size, well appointed, with great decor and a fantastic quiet setting away from the road. There was a massive surrealist artwork on the wall, very fitting as Donald Trump got elected while I was there. The down side: no towels and the coffee machine didn't work - these are not good things for work travelers who aren't morning people (i.e. me). I got more towels but the coffee never came right. The hotel doesn't keep irons in the rooms so if you're arriving late and need a shirt for the morning, I recommend you request an iron for your room in advance.
The breakfast, included in my rate, was excellent.
When I came to check out the staff very helpfully called me a taxi, helped me with my bag, and then tried to charge me against another room. Overall very comfortable, with a few minor quirks that somehow almost add to its charm. Don't be in a hurry to arrive or leave, find a good local cafe, and you'll love it. less
