Booked a break at short notice, saw this hotel was under the "Best Western" umbrella, so thought it would be a good bet. Had a double room on the top floor, clean, tidy, plenty of touches like tea, coffee, ironing board, iron, trouser press and plenty of wardrobe space. Bed was comfy, despite it being two large singles pushed together,(no middle ridge in this room)
Big flat TV on the wall with freeview only, but good free WIFI meant I could access an event on my IPad I did not want to miss.
Breakfast was fine, I had full English, my wife had salmon on a breakfast muffin, topped with a poached egg. Also toast, cereals, tea, coffee and other usual buffet breakfast items were available, on an as much as you wanted basis.
The young ladies serving were very polite, efficient and friendly and the man on reception was again friendly and dealt with queries efficiently.
There is a small car park at the rear for guests, make sure you give reception your reg number, or you could be clamped.
The pier, seafront, BICC and winter gardens are a 15 minute walk away, along with plenty of pubs, restaurants and takeaways all a short distance from the hotel.
All in all a pleasant hotel for a short stay, a little tired, but clean and comfortable. But oh those squeaky floorboards. Not too bad around the bathroom or sitting area, but towards the wardrobe and room door, the squeaking was like something out of a comedy film. They do explain in the hotel info, but it does take a bit of getting used to. May book again for a short break, just hope the next room is a little less creaky!! less
