We booked this hotel since it was one of the very few hotels in Bournmouth with rooms left on the night we wished to stay and when we arrived early evening after a three hour drive in heavy traffic, we were looking forward to a hot meal and a nicecomfortable room. How wrong were we!
Despite the hotel being fully booked we were informed that food was not served at the weekend. We were then shown to what resembled a closet with very little room to manoeuvre and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting.
The shower cubical at the bottom was mouldy,with huge cracks around the base. The skirting board was coming away from the wall and was full of holes and the towel rail was rusting. In short I would not have used this to bathe my dog, let alone myself! Oh and did I mention that the duvet was stained!
When I reported this to the Receptionist she apologised but stated that she could not move us since the hotel was full, however, she did offer to to see if another hotel had any rooms. Obviously that was unlikely since there was an event in Bournmouth that weekend, hence the difficulty in finding any hotel in the area with space!
Unfortunately, I had paid for said room and was informed that only management could offer a refund, so once I had returned home I complained in writing, requesting a full refund. Several emails later and the company have still refused a refund stating that they are only a three star hotel which seems to be their defence! Surely ALL hotel rooms should be fit for purpose regardless of their star rating!
I included photographs in my correspondence which were only addressed by stating that they had passed their inspection and since I had declined their offer of a free nights stay, they continue to decline my request for a refund.
I would avoid this hotel at all costs and our complaint is ongoing. Sadly there is no option to post photographs in this review which is why the hotel seem to be so blase in their attitude!
