My first night reservation was cancelled by the hotel the night before my visit and I had to book another room an hour away that was more expensive. I asked the manager for a discount on my 2nd reservation for my return trip to accommodate for their last minute cancellation and never received a response.
At check-in for the 2nd night our room was not ready, so we took the kids to the pool to swim while we waited, The water was greenish and even had a slight smell of algae. Since it was over 100 degrees we let the kids swim anyway and bathed afterward. Once we got our room, we found that even though we booked a 2-king suite we were only given a 2-queen suite., but we chose to stay in place since we had already brought in all of our belongings.
The kitchenette in the suite had no pots or pans, no cooking utensils, no dish ware, no glasses, and no forks, knives, or spoons. There were 2 plates and a handful of salad plates and nothing else!
The suite was next to a busy road and the sounds of cars driving right by the windows could be heard throughout the night, even over our white noise machines.
The upsides to our stay were that the breakfast had decent options, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the rooms were dark enough for putting the kids to bed early - the blackout curtains did their job.
