You might notice that I have a glowing previous review of this property, but am sad to note that age seems to be catching up to the hotel after I recently stayed here once more.
The pros: breakfast is wonderful and well stocked. There's a fitness center that's in good working condition except for the TV. The surrounding area is safe enough that my boyfriend and I felt very comfortable going for a morning jog in the neighborhoods nearby throughout our stay. It was relatively quiet during our time there as well, and we had no issues with the nightclub that shares the parking lot.
The cons: the elevator is looking a bit ragged, and the room we stayed in has definitely seen better days. The room itself was acceptable despite the only "view" being a desolate freeway-adjacent lot. It was sort of tucked away ina first floor alcove behind the vending machines, which seemed a bit odd. Once inside, we noticed it had an odd height to it that gave me weird flashbacks to The Shining. All that aside, it was the bathroom issues that put a damper on our stay. First was a gaping area of wood rot in the corner above the shower, and second was the toilet's sluggish flush. The rotten area especially made us uncomfortable, because it looked to be from water damage and caused us concerns over the possibility of mold. The staff we first interacted with seemed confused by our reservation, first not being able to locate it and then saying we had two rooms instead of the one I'd reserved. Thankfully a more experienced staff member was nearby and helped the first representative navigate what seems to be a flawed reservation system.
Overall we had no major hiccups with the property, but the room problems and general lack of upkeep left us feeling a bit disappointed with our choice of hotel. I don't think I'd choose to stay here again unless some serious renovation took place. less
