We have stayed here many times before and have really enjoyed it, but this last visit we just had will most likely be out last. We are VERY UPSET with current the policies in place.
We used to love staying here because the rooms are nice and spacious, the pool and hot tub are very nice and they normally have an outstanding breakfast. They also allow dogs which is a major bonus for us! However.......
This last visit they told us at check-in that dogs cannot be left in the room alone. This was never true in the past. Who wants to sit in a hotel room their entire trip?!?! That is not a vacation! We had to find all pet-friendly activities to do which was difficult at times. If you are a pet friendly hotel, then you need to truly be pet friendly. Especially when you charge $20 extra dollars a night per pet.
I understand new policies are required due to COVID-19, however this hotel is using it as an excuse to be very LAZY! First of all the pool and hot tub are closed. We were not informed of this when booking our room and you can tell they made it difficult to find on their website. The CDC has made it clear that it is almost impossible to catch COVID from being in a pool and hot tub because of all of the chemicals. They could have limited the amount of people in the pool area at one time but their is no reason to close it. Just seems lazy to me.
The breakfast was also a joke!!!! We got one banana, one granola bar, and a little orange juice in a bag as our breakfast. That is not ok. Especially when breakfast is part of the room charge. Online it stated that they would either have a grab and go breakfast that would also have a hot sandwich, a pastry or bread, and 2 cereal options, or that they would be having staff bring the food out to the tables instead of having a serve yourself breakfast. Another example of them using COVID to be cheap and lazy!
Also, we found an old used hair tie in our shower which means our bathroom was not thoroughly checked and cleaned....and during a pandemic!!! >:-|
The only reason I rated this as a 2 is because the staff is very nice and I know these policies are not their fault. Whoever was in charge of making these policies though really made some bad calls. Plain and simple. I am sorry but you cannot charge people the same amount and literally not provide any of the extra amenities that are already built into the room rate. We were very disappointed. :( less
