Hotel needs to be updated.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The staff at the front desk were friendly but not very helpful. We arrived at 21:00 and still had not had supper. When we asked if there was any restaurant that was still opened we were told "I do not know but there is an Italian place not far from here you can try". We found out later that IHOP is opened 24 hrs and was only five minutes away! (we put restaurant in our GPS and just started to go to all of them to see which was opened, not fun when you have just driven 12 hours!)
Our room was a good size with two queen beds. The room was clean but needs updating. The T.V worked the first night but not the rest of our stay. When we called to the front desk we were told that a car had hit a pole and that they were unsure of when it would be repaired. (two days to fix a cable pole???)
When we turned our heat on there was a stale smell coming from the heating unit. It did not last long but while it did it was very unpleasant. During our second night for some reason the heating unit started to pump out cold air. I woke up freezing and put the heat as high as it would go,It changed back to heat.
The mattress is not bad but the linen needs to be updated. The blankets given were not very warm.
The bathroom is an o.k size.Water pressure is good but the second night I had to turn the tap all the way to hot to get warm water.
The floor around the toilet always seemed to have a small amount of water on it. I think the toilet had a small leak.
My husband tried the gym equipment but stopped after 10 minutes as both machines were running very poorly and he did not feel safe using them. We told the front desk but the next day the machines were still running poorly.
The breakfast was one of the worst I have had in this type of hotel. The eggs were overcooked,often the containers were empty,and the selection was very limited. I am baffled as to why so many people review that the breakfast is good.
So to summarize the staff here are friendly but not very helpful. The rooms are below average,breakfast is below average. Hotel is kept very clean. The price is average.
Just need a place to stay overnight and do not want to blow your budget , it is not the worst place you can stay. Staying for more than one night chose another hotel. less

Thanks for taking the time to do survey. Any time an guest request information about dining locations, we provide an printed copy of all local resturants with directions upon our guest requests. My staff also let you know of the I-hop located on Route 28 which is opened twenty four hours a day.
I apologize for any issues with all of our televisions, but, we can not contol the fact that someone had an accident and ran into a Comcast Pole. Comcast did call the hotel and informed my front desk staff about the accident, and my staff did mention it to all guest checking in. Our updated gym equipment is brand new, and is in great working conditions, it is used by many of our guests. We provide breakfast seven days a week. Althogh we make every effort to offer a wide selection of choices within the stanards of Best Western Hotels. We have had many great reviews for our hotel, for all amenities we offer to our guest including our clean, safe rooms, hot/cold breakfast, as well as, our updated exercise equipment and the helpfulness of my staff. You stayed for three nights and never informed me or my staff about any complaints or concerns you had while you were here.
We would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations.
