I booked this hotel in early Dec. and knowing that there had been flooding in the area in Sept., asked them if they had been affected and they told me "no" and they were open. I always ask for a room on the first floor because I have bad knees plus I have a small dog and he has problems negotiating alot of stairs.
We got there 31/2 hrs. late bc of Christmas travelers so instead ok traveling for 10 hrs. we had been traveling for 13 1/2 hrs.
My husband went to sign in and said we were on second floor, I tld him " no, that must be a mistake ", so I went to talk with the desk clerk. She told me since the flood, they were renting out the rooms to the displaced people on the first floor. There were very little cars in the parking lot so I'm assuming that may not be true, that the first floor had been flooded and not fixed or cleaned up yet.
Some of my items were carried by a woman who worked for the hotel and since my dog wd not let her pick him up to to be carried upstairs my husband carried our dog upstairs, after 2 trips up with our things,
We are both in mid 70s & above, I think they could have told us from the beginning they wd have no first floor rooms avsilable. less

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of being on the second floor. Due to the hurricane, we have a whole new staff at the front desk and they are still being trained to avoid making mistakes such as this. We strive to make every guest experience an enjoyable one and we apologize that we fell short this time. We hope we have the opportunity to better serve you in the future and regain your trust and loyalty to our property. Thank you.
