My husband and I travelled to Ocean Shores to sign the paperwork to begin construction on our new home! We booked a night at the BW, fourth floor, ocean view King. The room was quite spacious with a nice wet bar located between the sitting area and the bed. The room included a sleeper sofa, table and two chairs, a small electric fireplace, va desk and micro and fridge. A small balcony gave us that spectacular ocean/beach view!
The breakfast offered the standard fare of scrambled eggs and sausage patties, oatmeal, waffles, dry cereal, yogurt and pastries. Nothing special.
There is a “lighthouse tower” located within the hotel and access is via a spiral staircase. Once at the top, the view isn’t much different than the fourth floor rooms.
The desk staff was very friendly. Although we did not use the pool or exercise facility, they looked fine. The restaurant wasn’t open yet. This hotel is obviously old and worn, made evident by the room style and general tiredness of the building.
Since it was a long day for us, we booked another night. This time, a fourth floor King room was not available, so we settled on a second floor room. Much the same except the sofa bed was not a sofa bed and it was filthy! We wouldn’t even sit on it. I was disappointed by this, to say the least. The room cost $150 and change. A little steep for off-season I’d say. Will probably look around for another hotel the next time we visit. less
