So, We came for a Family Conference (Congress, as You call it) at This Hotel in The Lovely Town of Leverkusen. This "Congress" was for Families of Children with a Chromosome Duplication called PTLS. It is like Autism, This was Our Host Hotel for Families of Germany.
So, Let me start with The Good things, Leverkusen is a Lovely town, a Suburb of Köln (Cologne), just enough Activity! The Local Indoor-Outdoor Shopping Center with a Cinema included along the Train Station is within about a 5 or 10 Minute Walk to, The Nature Trail behind The Hotel is really nice.
So, this is We get into the Not-so-Nice Stuff, So We had a Representative of Our German Foundation come to survey The Rooms, The Manager only showed him on The Renovated Floor. They were Renovating This Hotel, at a Very Slow Pace. We were expecting The Nice Room that was shown to The Representative. Not so Much! They got us one Room and We requested a "Renovated" Room. They were Full, The Front Desk told us. They give us another Room, but It was not much better than The Room before It. Mold on The Ceiling, Dirty Floors, Very Old-Looking Sink and, so on I should mention that Breakfast was 17 Euro per Person and The Pool/Sauna costs too, according to The Hotel Guide. Myself and The President of The Foundation looked at Hotel Websites and The Pictures of The Room were more on The Renovated Side. Talk about Photo Fake-Out! The Room did not with Any Air Conditioning, So We had to Open The Window for More Cool Air. The Only Thing about that, is that You can hear The Train whizzing Outside. Also, The Window could not open all the way because of The Curtains. A Fan was in The Room but, We could not get it to Work. Went downstairs to get another one. The "Congress" itself, Small Fans were Provided but, It still was a Rather Warm Room. No A/C in there for 60 People! I remember someone on here saying that This Hotel is not good for Groups, I hate to agree. I would expect this kind of thing, from a Best Western back home in The US but, Not in Europe! less
