We booked this hotel for a girls weekend to Arizonza - SUPER close to the Phoenix-Mesa airport, easy to get on and off the 202, just thought this would be the perfect place to stay. When I called and made the reservation, I indicated with the lady, that I needed the room with 2 queen beds and the sofa sleeper because there was 5 of us staying. Perfect - the room was available, wonderful! We got to the hotel late, our check in took forever and we were the only ones at the desk checking in, and it sounded like the receptionist was watching TV on her computer or something... she asked how many people - I said 5 - SHE NEVER said anything else regarding the number of people. NOTHING!!!!
We get up to our room, and the SMELL was horrible and I mean horrible to the point that we went out and purchased Glade plugins the following day to make it somewhat livable. As mentioned, we got in late, went to bed and when we woke up the following morning, we were able to more take in the room. There was syrup all over the desk, garbage in the window seals and just not a clean room, and we never did mention anything until we ran out of toilet paper because we had 1 roll in our room and towels that were needed.
The breakfast each morning morning was good - it was a "hot breakfast". The pool needed more of a seating area or a courtyard to sit - that was a very small area.
Fast forward to a day or so after we checked out - I was reviewing my credit card transactions and noticed a charge of an additional $158.00 - I called the hotel and was told that it looks like there was a rate change, ummm okay? why and why wasn't I informed when this changed?? - I was told that the reservation was made for 2 people, and there system automatically adds the additional amount for the extra people -- I WAS NEVER EVER told that there was a charge for additional people -- especially when I reserved the room for 5 people! UMM HELLO? I asked to speak to the manager and was told that "I am the manager". She said that your confirmation indicates that you reserved the room for 2 people, after reviewing my reservation confirmation - it states 1 Adult, not 2 or 5 but 1. That is not what I reserved - and no where on my confirmation does it indicate that the rate is for up to 2 people, believe me, I have checked over and over my confirmation.
The "manager" did assist with splitting the cost with me however, - what I am more frustrated with is the fact that no one EVER told me there is going to be a rate change. So moral of this review is to make sure you double check everything! I am also more than likely not going to be reimbursed by the others in my party for the additional charge that I am now covering.. -- so thanks Legacy Inn for making this review negative and more frustrating that ever. I will be looking elsewhere when we come back down in April. less
